Historic La Habra Home Swimming Pool
Adding this swimming pool to the yard of this historic home was a first for Splash Pools. This historic La Habra home was built between 1935 and 1936 and designed by Cliff May, Architect. This U-shaped ranch-style house was centered around a courtyard and each room of the house opened up to the central courtyard. You can view the original floor plan and rendering of the home on the UC Santa Barbara AD&A Museum Website. This is one of the oldest La Habra homes and formerly sat on hundreds of acres of land, although now it sits on 2.3 acres.
Swimming Pool Design and Build
The swimming pool is designed by Patrick May Landscape Design and built by Splash Pools and Construction. Patrick May designed the pool to blend with the style of the historic ranch home and used elements that would have been used for swimming pools in the 1930s, such as the blue tile. Splash Pools built the swimming pool, lodgepole patio cover, masonry, and installed all the landscape.
This La Habra home swimming pool features pre-cast concrete coping, deck jets that shoot into the pool, and a stunning blue mosaic tile that is throughout the pool with a subtle pattern on the pool floor. The spa is level within the pool and also covered in blue mosaic tiles. At the end of the pool is a decorative equipment wall, which covers the pool equipment, but also featured a stunning water fountain with the custom tile design and water basin. The other end of the pool features a reef step for lounge chairs or small kids to play.
The new lodgepole patio cover provides some shade for the outdoor living area. The brick retaining walls and steps down to the pool provide a beautiful setting for the new landscaping.
The end result is a classic swimming pool that complements this historic La Habra home.
