These 5 steps must be completed before construction can begin on your swimming pool.

Do you want to start building your swimming pool right away? Of course, we would love to start your pool construction right away, but typically there are five steps that must be taken before we can start digging.

BUT First, please understand that Splash Pools is a design-build firm where we design and build your swimming pool in-house. If you are looking to spend more than $250,000 in your backyard we recommend hiring a landscape architect to design your entire backyard environment before we build. Once a landscape architect has designed your pool and yard, we can provide a bid to build your swimming pool.

Here are the 5 steps that must be completed before construction can begin on your swimming pool:

  1. Pool Design, Pricing, and Hire Pool Builder | As a design-build firm, we meet with homeowners about their swimming pool project, work on a design with pricing and present this back to the homeowner prior to being hired. Swimming Pool design is a very important part of the process where we design a pool to fit your backyard and your style/needs. Once you have your pool design finalized, pricing approved and hired your pool builder then we can move on to the next step. IF you have plans from a landscape architect, this would be the step to have your project bid and hire a pool builder.
  2. Secure Funding | If you have enough cash to build a swimming pool, then this is an easy item to check off your list. If not, there are many swimming pool lenders out there. We recommend HFS Financial. Go to their website to get started on it today.
  3. Home Owner’s Association (HOA) Approval | About 30% of our homeowners have HOA’s that need to sign off on pool projects. Every HOA is different, but they may look at the pool equipment’s proximity to the property line, proper drainage, and plant materials. Some HOA’s have a plant pallet requiring homeowners to use specific plants and trees, while other plants are banned from the neighborhood.
  4. Pool Engineering and Building Permit Granted | Engineering and permits can take anywhere from 1-3 months depending on the project and the governing agency. Engineering tells us how to structurally build the pool and a separate company completes this. Then we take the pool design and engineer drawings to the city or county for approval.
  5. Underground Alert | This is the final step before construction starts. Underground Alert goes to the project site and marks off the gas, electrical, and sewer lines so that we know areas to stay away from while building your swimming pool.

NOW ITS TIME TO DIG!

Please let us know if you have any further questions about the steps that happen prior to starting construction on your swimming pool.
