Looking at the 2019 pool design trends and outdoor trends, we continue to see outdoor spaces as an extension of the home. Where there was once a simple backyard, people are investing their hard-earned income into creating an inviting and relaxing backyard environment to enjoy year-round. Finishes

Dark interior pool finishes, including the plaster, pebble tech and/or tile at water level give a more modern look. The reflections on pools with dark interiors are gorgeous, especially when captured at dusk.

Simple Geometric Shapes

Pool shapes continue to trend towards simple geometric shapes, rather than freeform with rounded curves. The geometric shape trend is great for small Southern California backyards! And don’t worry, although we call these ‘simple’ geometric pools, there is nothing boring about the design! There are plenty of interesting features and finishes to add excitement and visual depth.

Specialty Pool Features

Water features continue to dominate the 2019 Pool Design Trends.

Floating steps, especially surrounding overflow spas, continue to grow in popularity.

Rim flow pools and spas give a very clean look so that the water level of the pool or spa is at the same level of the deck. This is a very beautiful addition.

Water features such as bubblers, deck jets and elegant spillways add excitement to the geometric pool designs. In the picture at the top, notice the bubblers that surround the rim flow spa.
